Greenville Council Expresses Frustration Over Audit
The Greenville City Council expressed its frustration over delays with an ongoing city audit during their July 7 meeting.
Council members cited missing documentation and communication issues with the city’s current accounting consultant. State law requires annual audits to be finalized within 180 days of the close of a fiscal year, yet the fiscal audits for 2024 and 2025 have not yet been completed. Officials emphasized the need for timely financial records and greater accountability as the city works to bring its audits up to date.
Talbot Schools Adopt Mandated Distraction-Free Learning Policy
Talbot County Schools, like all other systems throughout the state, have adopted, due to the state mandate, a distraction free learning policy.
“The goal by the school system is to create a safe, respectful, distraction-ree school day that keeps students focused on learning,” according to school officials.
